PROTEPLAST-60 Application Recommendations
- Ensure the surface is clean from dust, oil, and old material residues before application.
- For better adhesion, it is recommended to slightly moisten the repair area.
- After application, allow to air dry for at least 24 hours (depending on the thickness of the layer), then proceed with gradual heating.
- Note: Sometimes the material may feel stiff upon opening — this is completely normal. You can knead it by hand or loosen it by poking and working it with a trowel. If you find that you need a softer consistency, you may add a very small amount of water.
PROTEPLAST-60 Plastic Refractory Mass is a high-alumina, chemically bonded and ready-to-use repair material engineered for advanced thermal maintenance. What sets it apart is its plastic, moldable consistency. This mass is easy to apply by hand or tool, allowing it to conform precisely into cracks, seams, or surface voids in firebrick linings and refractory installations.
Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 3000°F (1650°C), PROTEPLAST-60 is ideal for repairing erosion, thermal damage, and seam separation in industrial heat-processing equipment. Each 8 lb (74 fl. oz.) pail provides excellent handling, adhesion, and thermal endurance — trusted by DIY enthusiasts and professionals for its unmatched ease of use and durability in extreme conditions.

What is Proteplast
Proteplast is the perfect solution for repairing damaged linings: cracks, chips, voids, and joint gaps.
Ready-to-use solution
Proteplast comes ready to use. It air-dries and develops initial hardness, then becomes extremely durable after heat exposure.
Please note
Proteplast is not a mortar for laying bricks or shapes.
It’s a moldable plastic refractory mass — a formable mixture that takes on any shape you give it, whether you’re filling a joint or restoring a broken section of a refractory product.
Indoor and outdoor application
Proteplast is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, making it a flexible and reliable solution for on-site refractory repair.
